This woman's smile tells it all. Though she is homeless, she is treated as very special. Volunteers serve meals to over 100 in a parking lot in downtown Nashville every Saturday. Area businesses provide the food through Layman Lessons Ministries.

There are those who reach out and touch lives. Every Saturday morning, a vacant parking lot in downtown Nashville becomes a haven for homeless men and women. Layman Lessons Ministries offers the only open-air church service in Nashville especially for them, as well as prayer, a wonderful meal donated by local businesses, and a mobile clothing unit.

Nashville's only mobile feeding and clothing ministry for the homeless arrives every Saturday morning in a vacant parking lot downtown. Not only are they provided with clothing, but a wonderful meal, and a church service put on by Layman Lessons Ministries.

He's my brother... Many of Nashville's homeless gather together in a parking lot on Saturday mornings for Nashville's only open-air church service especially for them. This opportunity, provided by Layman Lessons Ministries, allows them to share one another's burdens and pray together.

The 2007 Drought hit everyone hard, including people who use ponds in their yeard for recreation. the pond is a little bit too dry to get in your paddleboat. Located on a rural road near Nolensville, TN in Williamson Co.

Along Front St. in Smyrna, TN The Smyrna Police Department has made cardboard cutouts of their police officers and will be moving them around town. I took this picture on a thursday, and by Friday it wasn't there.

The Old Stone Bridge in Goodlettsville Formally called Mansker's Station, is one of the stone bridges over which passed the old stage road from Nashville to Louisville. The stage line operated until the railroad was completed in 1859.

Located at the Bedford County Courthouse in Shelbyville, TN. This statue was dedicated on Mar. 11, 2006 and was sculpted by Russ Faxon of Bell Buckle, TN. There are 1,111 bricks honoring donors of the project. There are 4 benches, one at each corner, to represent the 4 continents that the Veterans have fought in.

This is the only open-air church for the homeless in Nashville. The city skyline overlooks the vacant parking lot that becomes a hub of activity every Saturday morning with over 100 homeless attending. They receive a hot meal, clothing from Nashville's only mobile distribution center and fellowship. Offered by Layman Lessons Ministries, they also are given an opportunity to obtain jobs, housing and training. Volunteers are desperately needed!

Thanks to The Tennessean for offering us the wonderful opportunity to share our views of the city we love. It is my hope that we never forget to share our love with others as well. I shot this photo at the only open-air church for the homeless in downtown Nashville. In addition, they are provided with a hot meal and clothing. Now that is love!

Rippavilla Plantation in Spring hill. General Motors has 500 acres near the plantation that has entered into a contract with a Canadian based company to purchase the land for residential and commercial properties. A civil war skirmish was fought on the land, and the Tennessee Preservation Trust named it one of the state's most endangered historic properties.

I met Daemon from New York with his grandmother, while visiting a nashville resort who urged him to let me take his photo and to ask him a few questions on his trip to Nashville's Annual Country Music Festival in Nashville Tennessee. He is in Kindergarten, likes to wrestle his team mates, his teacher is Mrs. Peggy, just got into a new school and is on a T-ball team. From that giant smile on his face, I think he was happy to be in Tennessee and ready to meet his hero, Alan Jackson! I know Daemon made 'my' day!

Rutherford County was graced with these lovely additions this year--stop light cameras. Run it, and your license plate gets photographed. In turn, you get mailed a ticket. I wonder if they would accept a photocopy of a check as payment?
