Enjoying the passion of photography has also heightened an awareness that were there not beautiful or interesting things to "capture," life would be painfully dull. Thank God for sharing with us the mystery and miracle of light, shadow, color, reflection, shape and surprise. I might be the one who presses the shutter, but I can certainly not be credited for what appears in the frame. It exists independently of me and I'm simply the lucky one who happens to freeze it in the one moment I have to see what's before me. For those interested in what equipment I shoot with: Panasonic DMC-FZ50 (it's a great SLR-hybrid). Of course, I still dream of "grown-up" equipment!! NOTE: My mother underwent surgery on Wednesday, July 23rd. Outcome was fantastic - YAY, GOD!! - but recovery is going to be painful initially. I'm going up to northern Illinois to help her and won't be back to Tennessee for a week or two. I may or may not get a chance to submit more photos to CMC before the deadline cut-off, but even if I don't, I'm beyond thrilled with the friends I've made, the artistry I've learned, and the exposure to even more of God's beauty through this art form. Thank you all for this experience. God bless you. Oh, and while I fully expect Brenda Sparks to take the lead as far # of photos submitted by a female contributor, I'll certainly be cheering for whoever passes me by!! 10:51 p.m. Monday, August 25, 2008: I promised myself I'd stick it out until the very last second to make sure I missed no photo that needed to be voted on. This has been a magical mystery tour for us all and I give sincere thanks to The Tennessean, Pediment Publishing and ALL the photographers who have shared their love of this crazy craft while teaching, cheering, and revealing themselves these past many months. It's been a WONDERFUL ride!!
