Heron along the Cumberland by Brenda Sparks

Blue Heron fishing on the banks of the Cumberland River. I'm sure I looked hilarious fumbling for my camera to get the shot. It was taken on a public boat dock in Ashland City. My daughter wanted to see the puppy of a man fishing off the dock. As we approached you could hear wings wooshing overhead. This bird literally swooped over top our heads and landed in the shallow water on the banks. I managed to get my camera out and get all of my settings correct. This is one of about 5 shots I was able to snap before it flew away. I did get some flying shots, but they didn't turn out as great as I would have liked.
